Joining the Program

RDA Doveton operates from the Pavilion at Myuna Farm, Doveton, and has
an indoor riding arena and an outdoor activity trail.

Our participants achieve a sense of well-being, improve their fitness
and self-confidence and make new friends, all while riding in our
group sessions.

• Session times: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 10 am, 11 am and 1 pm.
  Maximum 5 riders per session
• Weight limit: 80kg
• Age limit: from 3 years old

Volunteering

We have 2 types of volunteering:

Session days – assisting in our riding program, Monday, Tuesday and
Thursday from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. The duties include catching the horses,
grooming, saddling up, warming up, and then leading or side-walking with
our riders. There are 3 sessions in a day, lasting up to 50 minutes each. The
horses are fed at lunchtime, and at the end of the day, after tidying the
clubroom, we return them to the paddock.

Horse welfare days – Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8.30
am to 10.30 am. The duties include catching, feeding and checking the
horses, and cleaning the paddocks of manure.

The work is very rewarding and enjoyable. You do not need any experience
to join us; our friendly team provides full training.
