Joining the Program

Stawell centre is conducted Wednesday mornings from 9.30am – 12 noon during school terms. 

We provide riding instruction and activities such as trail riding, games and dressage in the enclosed arena. We encourage independence and riders are given the opportunity to groom and saddle and unsaddle their horse or pony. Games improve motor skills and balance for riders. Interaction with other riders and volunteers is encouraged by leaders and side walkers. We have 4 registered Coaches and 10 regular volunteers who assist each week.

Volunteering

Volunteering is an important part of the RDA setting. Without volunteers, we are unable to provide our weekly riding program. Volunteers are able to assist with the riding program or provide assistance in the office with fitting boots and helmets on riders. Volunteers are able to help riders waiting for their lessons with horse-related educational activities. We welcome all volunteers to our centre and provide a happy social activity within a volunteer setting.
