Volunteers are the life blood of RDA Victoria, we would not be able to provide the services we do without the hundreds of volunteers who are consistently giving their time to RDAV. Volunteering is a great way to meet people, become involved in your community, have fun and make a difference in someone’s life.
There are 34 centres across Victoria that are needing your help, you can see if there is a centre near you by checking out our Centre page.
When becoming a volunteer with RDA Victoria there are a range of tasks available that suit every person’s abilities:
– Side walkers
– Horse training & care
– Office support
To become an RDA Volunteer we have a small number of requirements that must be done before commencement:
– You must be at least 12 years of age
– It is a legal requirement that all volunteers aged 18 or over must have a Working with Children Check for whichever role that you are partaking in (A WWCC is free for volunteers and forms are on the Working with Children Website)
We ask that all of our volunteers make a commitment to RDA Victoria to offer their time on a regular basis so that every centre can not only offer a worthwhile experience to its riders but also plan and provide consistent and reliable care for the horses and the overall management of the centres.
RDA Victoria recognises the Child Safe Standards outlined by the Victorian Government and is a Child Safe Organisation.
