Volunteer

Volunteer to help people find the freedom to take the reins

Our services depend on hundreds of passionate volunteers – and we need more!

We Love Volunteers!

Volunteers are the lifeblood of RDA Victoria— our services rely on the hundreds of volunteers working with RDAV – and we need more!

Volunteering opportunities are endless: you could assist during lessons, care for and feed horses, assist with fundraising or even become an RDA coach!

*RDA Victoria recognises the Child Safe Standards outlined by the Victorian Government and is a Child Safe Organisation.

Volunteer with us

Volunteering is a great way to meet people, become involved in your community, have fun and make a difference in someone’s life. And you’ll also be around horses!

There are 34 centres across Victoria ready to connect with you—see if there’s a Centre near you by checking the Find a Centre page.

As a valued volunteer, you’ll find a range of available roles—something to suit every person’s abilities:

  • Side walkers
  • Leaders
  • Horse training & care
  • Coaching
  • Admin support
  • Fundraising
  • Events

RDAV needs you to satisfy a few requirements before joining the team, including:

Age—You must be at least 12 years of age.

Checks—All volunteers aged 18 or over must have a Working with Children Check (checks are free for volunteers and forms are available online)

Commitment—Volunteers commit to regular sessions so that every centre can plan consistent programs, animal care and administration.
